  • What are the rates for lessons?
    Our lessons cost $60 per couple for all four weeks. This equates to about $5 per person per hour of instruction.
  • How long do lessons last?
    Lessons are once a week for an hour and a half with each session of lessons lasting for four weeks.
  • Do I need to have a partner when I sign up for lessons?
    You can sign up for lessons without having a partner, but you must have a partner by the time lessons start. If you do sign up without a definite partner and cannot find one by the time your lessons start, we cannot refund your money. The only lesson that does not require a partner is the one night line dancing workshop.
  • How can I find a partner for lessons/tryouts?
    Check out our Partner Search Database for help finding a partner. For security reasons, you are required to have a current TAMU NetID and password to access the database. We also have a partner search instagram page, @AW_DancePartnerSearch! You can fill out the following FORM to have your information posted on our page so that potential partners can contact you!
  • Do my partner and I need to be A&M students to take your dance lessons?
    Of course not! Our classes are offered to everyone and anyone regardless of whether you are enrolled at Texas A&M or not.
  • My partner cannot come to one of the classes. Can I still come?
    You can bring a substitute partner as long as they pay $30! The other option is coming 30 minutes early to the next class the following week! If you have any questions, contact @Lessons@wranglers.tamu.edu.
  • Is it okay if I miss a class? Can I learn the material from the week I missed?
    Yes, you are more than welcome to come 30 minutes before or stay 30 minutes after your given lesson time to catch up from the previous week. However, should you or your partner be absent the final week, please contact lessons@wranglers.tamu.edu. It is not guaranteed that a team member will be available to assist once a class has ended.
  • What is taught in each of your classes?
    We teach a variety of classes for people of all different skill levels. Participants should be aware that all moves are “challenge by choice” and are not required should you feel uncomfortable to do so. - Country and Western 1 teaches the basic two step, polka, waltz, and the turns associated with each step. - Country and Western 2 is for those who are more comfortable with their polka. Basic moves such as Donna, pretzel, and box are taught to a polka step. - Jitterbug 1 teaches basic jitterbug floor moves such as Donna and pretzel, as well as several stunts including Jessie flip, floor sweep, and can opener. - Jitterbug 2 is for those who are interested in more of our “High Flyin’ Death Defyin’” moves. The primary focus of this class is to teach lifts which will be almost entirely off the ground. There are relatively few floor moves. Jitterbug will include Around the World, Reisha, Cliffhanger, Michelle, and several others.
  • I saw a cool jitterbug move in a performance. Can I learn it?
    If the move is one that is taught in public lessons – yes! Unfortunately, we also have a set of team-only moves that we are unable to teach to the public due to safety precautions. We practice long and hard to ensure the safety of our team members as well as those who take our lessons!
  • How early should I sign up for lessons?
    Online signups start about a month in advance of the lessons start date. If you want to ensure that you will get a spot in a certain class on a certain day, reserve your spot as soon as possible. Our classes are filled on a first come first serve basis and there are a limited number of spots within each class. Be sure to follow the Aggie Wranglers on Facebook and Instagram for up-to-date information on when lessons signups are available.
  • What am I required to bring to lessons?
    Be sure to always wear appropriate clothing to dance in; be mindful of skirts and low-cut shirts. Boots are not required, but are recommended. Secondly, we ask that you bring your liability waiver printed and completed on the first day of lessons to ensure that the lesson starts promptly. If you do not have the waiver we will provide one to fill out upon arrival.
  • Can I attend another lesson other than the one I signed up for?
    This is handled on a case by case basis. We try to be flexible, but when classes are full it is sometimes difficult to fit an extra couple into the room. Feel free to email our Lessons Coordinator at lessons@wranglers.tamu.edu with any questions you may have.
  • If I have a problem with lessons, who can I talk to?
    We hope you never have a problem with lessons, but if you do please talk to your instructors first. You may also speak with any of the assistants. If the issue persists, you are welcome to email our Lessons Coordinator at lessons@wranglers.tamu.edu.
  • If I have an accident or injury at lessons, what should I do?
    Please inform one of your instructors to assist you. We will ask that you fill out an Incident Report Form which will be available at all lessons. We will follow-up as necessary.
  • I saw a cool jitterbug move in a performance. Can I learn it?

    Aggie Wranglers lessons will always be taught by an approved current team couple to ensure the safety of our participants.
  • What are the rates for private lessons?
    Rates vary according to the number of couples participating in the requested lesson. Prices may be found on our Private Lessons page HERE. ** Please note that lessons located more than 25 miles from the Bryan/College Station area may require additional travel fees.
  • How long do private lessons last?
    Private lessons may be requested by the half-hour. If you have questions concerning the allotment of time needed for your participants in your private lesson, please contact our Lessons Coordinator at lessons@wranglers.tamu.edu.
  • What do you teach in your private lessons?
    We teach a variety of classes for people of all different skill levels. Private lessons may be customized to incorporate a variety of moves taught in each of our classes. Please visit our Public Lessons page to view a list of what we offer. We practice long and hard to ensure the safety of our team members as well as those who take our lessons. Unfortunately, we have a set of team-only moves that we are unable to teach to the public due to safety precautions.
  • How far in advance should I request a private lesson?
    We do our very best to work with each lesson request, regardless of submission; however, it is preferable that requests are made at least 4-6 weeks in advance. When lessons requests are submitted with ample time before the event date, team members are offered the opportunity to ensure that they will be available.
  • How do I request a performance?
    Performance information can be found under the "Performances" tab of our website. Additionally, you may request a performance HERE.
  • Does submitting a performance request automatically confirm that the Aggie Wranglers will come to my performance?
    No. Upon submission, performance requests are brought to the team, and each member fills out their availability for the date and time. If there are at least three couples available for your performance, your request will be confirmed via email.
  • How far in advance should I request a performance?
    We do our very best to work with each performance request, regardless of submission; however, it is preferable that requests are made at least 3 months in advance. When performance requests are submitted with ample time before the event date, team members are offered the opportunity to ensure that they will be available. Ideally, this in turn creates the chance that more couples will be able to make your performance.
  • Can I sponsor the Aggie Wranglers?

Examples of items that can be sponsored include anything from a new camera tripod to organized shelving units, or even uniform pieces for our new members!
